one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the bay area has to be Bouchon. Located in the quaint town of Yountville, on the outskirts of the napa valley.
Best of all --- if you know how to cook, you can now buy Thomas Keller's cook book 'bouchon' in bookstores. i've tried several of the recipes and they're awesome. this book actually has the recipes for ALL of the items you find in the restaurant. no joke.
it's not in the bay area, but want to share anyway
so, this isn't in the bay area, but for those who visit maryland, you must try <a href="http://www.jaleo.com>JALEO</a> in Bethesda. Amazing tapas and live dancing!!!! Delicious food and amazing atmosphere! They had the best sangria I have ever had by far!!! They apparently have been featured on FoodTV and have great ratings in the Zagat guide.
i'm new here. followed the link from sfbayarea
i love japanese food, and my favourite place has to be Yuki Sushi in Santa Clara.
i'm drooling even just thinking about it...
i also love italian, and going to Frankie, Johnny, and Luigi's Too usually cures my fix. however, there are way too many good italian places around
mmm...yeah, that's all for now
art gallery & restaurant in one - - -
i've heard about a restaurant in san francisco that is an art gallery and restaurant in one. has anyone ever been there? what's it like? i'm very curious. . .
what's the new "hot" hangout?
just curious to hear. . .
Piatti in Yountville - Great food, company & wine!
i was in Sonoma last week for my company's user's conference. we ate at Piatti in Yountville. dinner was awesome. great food, great wine and great company. the only downer was the waiter spilled pasta sauce down my leg. i ordered the pollo di piccata or something like that. it was excellent. half of it was on my pants, but that's ok. they were very apologetic and offered to pay the cleaning bill and i got my food for free (not that it matters since the company is paying for it anyway)
we started off with their garlic bread, carpaccio, pancetta wrapped shrimp and a bottle of grgich hills fume blanc 2001.
the other people in our party had steak ravioli and i can't remember what else, but we enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine birolio or something like that. that was good, too.
finished off the meal with a second bottle of grgich hills.
we got to sit outside on their patio which was nice. especially since it was so warm that day and the evening was just cool enough to sit outside.
